BIOGRAPHY
Achieved PhD degree of Materials Science and Engineering from Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tsinghua University in Beijing of China in December 2006. As the first PhD student on Gasar science and technology in China, research focused on Metal-Gas Eutectics, Metal Foams, Porous Metals and Directional Solidification. Be awarded excellent dissertation prize in Tsinghua in 2007. And also received a lot of student scholarships during studying in Tsinghua. After that, went to UK and worked as a Research Fellow (a post-doctoral position) in the biggest research group on solidification science in Europe named as BCAST (Brunel Centre for Advanced Solidification Technology) at Brunel University in Uxbridge, West London from 2007 to 2010. Be engaged in the development of Melt Conditioning Advanced Solidification Technology (MCAST) and Liquid Metals Engineering for Al and Mg alloys by high speed shearing provided by the novel twin screw machine. Attended a lot of EPSRC, DTI and industry research projects. During staying in UK, took part in Chinese Materials Association in UK (CMAUK) and became one of the Members of Executive Council of CMAUK. And then back to Beijing, joined Tsinghua University as an abroad talent since 2010 and worked as a new assistant professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering in Tsinghua from 2010 to 2012. Then joined in the newly formed School of Materials Science and Engineering in Tsinghua in 2013. From 2014 to now, works as an associate professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering in Tsinghua. More attentions are paid to Porous Metals, Al Foams, Processing of Light Alloys, Advanced Solidification Technology and Theory, New Materials, Ultra Light Mg-Li Alloys, High Strength Al Alloys, and Heat Treatment etc. By now has produced around 50 publications, in which, about 25 publications were indexed by SCI.
